Love From Australia makes a “Smart Move” to Microsoft Dynamics GP with Touchstone Group


06 July 2009: Love From Australia (LFA), a leading retail distributor of luxury sheepskin boots, bags and accessories has signed a contract with Touchstone Group for Microsoft Dynamics GP on Touchstone’s Smart Move 3 package.

The Smart Move 3 package from Touchstone Group is a quick, easy and cost-effective migration path from Sage (Line) 50 to the market leading Microsoft Dynamics GP solution, including software, installation, and selected data migration, configuration and training.

LFA had outgrown their Sage 50 system and was looking for a single-source consolidated finance system that would reduce the use of spreadsheets and Microsoft Access database plug-ins, be capable of multi-currency transactions and reporting across the breadth of their business operations.

LFA evaluated a number of retail and distribution specific packages but found them to be either functionally weak at the entry level or very expensive and complex solutions for their needs. Microsoft Dynamics GP is a more flexible, functionally rich core financial platform which will provide the benefits they were looking for and yet represents a very low cost entry point via the Smart Move programme.

A key benefit for LFA is the advanced reporting, providing visibility over customer orders, stock levels and manufacturing commitments, which they did not have with Sage 50.

According to Tara Knapp, Director at LFA: “Touchstone listened very carefully to our business issues and made recommendations based on best fit to our requirements to the packages available. We were delighted to find the Microsoft Dynamics GP application was so well understood by Touchstone that they could propose a quick and easy template approach to implementation. Additionally, there was a low cost of entry and, better still, finance was available from Microsoft to spread the cost over three years. This meant that we wouldn’t need to make our first payment until after our sales season was underway.”

“Touchstone was able to demonstrate the fit of the application to our business, propose an implementation plan, agree terms and finance, and plan the start of the project within 3 weeks. The expected duration of the implementation is 10-14 days.”

Because of the close relationship with Microsoft, Touchstone can explore financing options for customers to help preserve capital resource, which is critical in the current economic situation, while enabling important strategic investments in a company’s future.
